Geeta Kunj Jyotisar – The Birthplace of Gita

Direction The hallowed Jyotisar, the birthplace of Gita, is the most revered tirtha in Kurukshetra, and it may be found in Jyotisar. Jyotisar is considered to have been the site of the beginning of the Mahabharata conflict, where Lord Krishna delivered the eternal message of the Gita to Arjuna on the eve of the fight. Adi Sankaracharya is supposed to have discovered the location during a pilgrimage to the Himalayas in the 9th century. The king of Kashmir built a Shiva shrine at the tirtha around 1850 A.D. The King of Darbhanga constructed a stone platform around the sacred banyan tree in 1924, which according to devouts is the evidence of the melody celestial, i.e. Gita. As early as 1967, the Sankaracharya of Kanchi Kama Koti Peetha. It was placed on the platform facing east, showing Gita Updesha. Because of the rage of the mediaeval invaders, the tirtha in the past may have consisted of the ancient temple, but they could not last. On the main platform of the temple is a piece of ancient architecture from the 9th or 10th century. A nightly light and sound performance in Hindi and English is presented by Haryana Tourism.
